    Specialization

The Doctor deals with the investigation of problems in the digestive system by performing endoscopic diagnostic tests (gastroscopy, colonoscopy) related to the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. The spectrum of his scientific interests includes the evaluation and treatment of diseases of the digestive system, bile ducts, pancreas, and liver. Also included are gastroesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and esophageal disease. The patient’s medical history is assessed and, where required, endoscopic procedures are performed, such as colonoscopy and gastroscopy using High Definition technology, and appropriate treatment is provided depending on the symptoms and endoscopic findings.

Pantelis Xenophontos D.O.

Education

Mr. Pantelis Xenophontos graduated from the University College of Osteopathy in London the oldest Osteopathic College in Europe and has undergone further training in Medical Acupuncture. He practiced in various clinics in London where he founded the PXOsteopathy and Sports Injury Clinic in 2014, www.pxosteopathy.com

His passion for sports led him to continue his studies in the field of sports medicine. He completed a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine, Exercise, and Health from the University College London (UCL), one of Europe’s most renowned universities in the field of medicine in Europe.

Mr. Xenophontos recently moved to Cyprus and joined the EIMC clinic.

 

Specialization

Osteopathy involves clinical care of the neuro-musculoskeletal system, which comprises the bones, muscles, nerves, and other tissues that support your body and control its movements.

Osteopaths use your individual medical history and environmental factors to understand the root cause of your pain to develop a personalized plan to help you manage your pain and move better.

He offers Osteopathic treatment which may involve any combination of Manual Therapy (manipulation, mobilization, neuromuscular techniques, soft tissue massage), Therapeutic Needling Techniques, and Clinical Exercise programs. The treatment is tailored to each individual and is encouraged through advice on posture, lifestyle, and aid to stress-related problems. This clinical advice aims to help patients understand the nature of their problems so that they can return to their everyday activities as soon as possible.

 

Experience

During his osteopathic training, he worked as part of the university’s community clinics that offer treatment for those having pain and musculoskeletal injuries in Elderly homes, GP surgeries, Homeless facilities, and the Royal Free Hospital (London).

He had the opportunity to work closely with elite athletes competing in track & field and endurance events. Some have represented their countries in the Olympic Games of RIO 2016. Participated in a number of events offering track-side cover including the London Indoor Games, England U23&U20 Championships & the European Trials and he was part of the medical team that traveled with the athletes for their international training camp.

He has also provided mentorship and support to osteopathy students and got invited as an external examiner in final year osteopathy student exams.

His patients range from office workers and fitness enthusiasts to pregnant women and the elderly. He regularly treats and manages patients who like to exercise and participate in sports, including running (marathon), cycling, dancing, Crossfit, tennis, martial arts, and football.

Christos Vichas is a Clinical Dietitian with a vast experience in hospitals around the UK for the NHS England. Christos specialises in gut health conditions and has worked with over 1000 patients who suffer from food intolerances and gastrointestinal problems such as IBS, IBD, Liver Disease, Oncology and Pancreatitis.

He also has a lot of experience with patients needing tube feeding as he has worked for over 3 years in the ITU. Despite his passion for gastrointestinal conditions he wants to help as many patients as possible to improve their health, become more comfortable around food, and trust their bodies.

He is here to help from patients with the most complicated conditions to ones who aim to lose weight.

Dr. Stephanie Soteriadou

Dr. Stephanie Soteriadou is a Consultant in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine.

She graduated with a medical degree from the University of Manchester in 2006. She completed all her training in the U.K and worked there as a Consultant in the NHS.

She has vast experience in dealing with gastroenterology related conditions which include Endoscopy (Diagnostic and Therapeutic Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy), Luminal (such as Inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis, Irritable bowel Syndrome, Coeliac disease etc.) and Hepatology.

Dr Soteriadou believes in research and has been involved in several projects. She has presented her work in National and International conferences and is a published author. She believes in the importance of continuing medical education and attends conferences and online conferences to ensure she keeps up with the latest guidelines.

Throughout her career she has been involved in teaching and education and was the Training and Education Lead in her previous job. She has taught and has been an examiner of doctors, medical students, and allied health professionals.

Dr. Stelios Orphanides

EDUCATION:

Dr. Stelios Orphanides graduated from the Medical University of Malta in 2006. He then returned to Cyprus, where he received a license to practice.

He moved to Sweden where he completed his specialty in Geriatrics at the Södra Älvsborg Hospital. During his training he worked regularly at the Osteoporosis Clinic and was successful in the ISCD (International Society of Clinical Densitometry) exams thus obtaining the title of CCD (Certified Clinical Densitometrist) which allows him to investigate and accurately interpret radiology findings and then recommend the appropriate treatment for Osteoporosis. Dr. Orphanides also holds an MSc in Dementia from the University Hospital Karolinska in Sweden and has been awarded the title of ‘Silvialäkare’ (Doctor of Queen Sylvia of Sweden) which is the highest title awarded for work done in the field of dementia in Sweden.

SPECIALIZATION:

Dr. Stelios Orphanides (MD, MSc, CCD) is a Senior Consultant in Geriatrics in Sweden and specializes in the field of geriatrics and specifically in Dementia and Osteoporosis. He is the head of the Memory Clinic in the Älvsborg district of Southern Sweden.

 EXPERIENCE:

After completing his specialty, he was promoted to Senior Consultant in Geriatrics and was appointed Head of the Memory Clinic where he performed specialized research of dementia disorders for the area of Södra Älvsborg in Southern Sweden. He also worked as a Geriatric Caregiver in geriatric medical centers and was also responsible for providing specialized home medical care for elderly patients. Dr. Stelios Orphanides can offer specialized research for dementia and osteoporosis, as well as advice for elderly patients.
